I really enjoyed The Family Upstairs. A lot of twists and turns, some you see coming, some you would never expect.
From reading the back of the book, you know the premise: a 25 year old woman inherits an abandoned mansion, left to her by her parents who died when she was a baby.
The story flips back and forth between present day and 25-30 years earlier and it follows along with Libby (the now-25 year old) and the four other kids who lived in the house prior to her birth.
It’s dark, but not gruesome. The adults in this story are twisted and manipulative, and that can be hard to wrap your head around at times.

This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Jewell, but I have a few others in my library so it won’t be the last!
Overall, it’s a great read if you like the thriller/mystery genre.
